Akarshak Farmers Producer Company Limited

In Samastipur, there’s a small place called Nagarbasti near Begampur. That’s where we are. We use the Warishnagar police station area as our landmark. Akarshak is the name on our registration, but mostly we are just the farmers from the neighborhood. We don't have a big corporate building. Most of our talking happens in the village itself, usually near someone’s house or in the shade when the sun is too hot. We deal with the usual crops like rice and wheat. Samastipur has its own rhythm, and we just follow it. We started this company because it’s hard for a single farmer to get a good deal on anything these days. By joining up, we can at least talk to the traders with a bit more weight behind us. We don't have a secretary or a fancy phone system. If someone calls, it’s usually one of us answering while we’re busy with something else. The work is dirty and exhausting, but it’s what we know. We don't have any big plans to expand all over the country. We just want to make sure the people in Nagarbasti can keep their farms running without going into debt. It's a humble way to live, and it’s not always easy, but it’s our life. We just take things one day at a time and hope for a decent rain. We aren't experts, we are just people who know the soil here.
