Balagachh Jamuna Krishi Producer Company Limited

We are located in Rajpur, Jaunapur, which is part of the Samastipur area. The company is run from the home of Jamun Singh’s wife. It is a very rural spot, and that is exactly where we belong. Most of the people involved here have dirt under their fingernails most of the week. We called it Balagachh Jamuna Krishi because those names mean something to us locally. In Samastipur, agriculture is basically the whole life of the community. We don't have fancy titles or big salaries. It is more about making sure we can actually sell what we grow without getting cheated. We share what we know about the soil and try to help each other out when someone’s crop is failing. It’s a practical way of living. Some people think a company needs a big glass building, but we just need a sturdy roof and a place to sit. Our records are kept in simple folders and we talk to each other face-to-face. You might see us walking through the fields or standing by the road talking to the drivers. We don't use big words or try to sound like we are from the city. We are just folks from Jaunapur doing the work that has been done here for generations. It is not always easy, and sometimes we wonder why we do it, but then the next season starts and we are back at it. There is a lot of history in this ground.
