We are located over at 4/20, Maramangalam in the Pelakadu area. Most people around here know us as Yercaud Vadakkumalaiyaan Farmer Producer Company Limited, though it’s a long name for a group of local farmers just trying to get by. We started this because farming on your own is getting harder every year. By coming together as a company, we can share the costs and hopefully keep our farms going for another generation. Our office is a simple place, nothing fancy. You’ll mostly find us out in the fields or dealing with the day-to-day logistics of moving our produce. It is a lot of physical labor and sometimes the weather doesn't play nice, but that’s just how it goes in agriculture. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. It's just us, the people who actually grow the food. We handle various crops that do well in this climate. If you come by Pelakadu, you’ll see the kind of work we put in. It’s a quiet life mostly, centered around the seasons and what the land gives us. We decided to register as a producer company to have a bit more say in how things are sold. It helps the families involved stay on their feet. There’s always something to fix or a new problem to solve with the irrigation or the transport, but we manage. We’re just local folks from Maramangalam doing what we know best, which is farming these hills and fields.
