If you find yourself on Main Road in Vinnampalli, look for number 78. That’s where Shanker Traders is. We are right in the middle of things here. It’s a small place, really. We sell a bit of everything that people around the village might need. The shelves are packed and sometimes things get a bit disorganized when we are busy. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Most people just know we are here because we’ve been around for a while. The morning starts with sweeping the front and getting the stock ready. Vinnampalli is a small place, so we know most of the people who walk through the door by name. We talk about the weather or the crops while we weigh things out or look for items in the back. It’s a simple way to make a living. We don't use any fancy software to keep track of things; it’s mostly just notebooks and pens. Sometimes a truck will stop by to drop off new supplies and we have to scramble to find space for it all. The road outside can get a bit noisy with the local traffic, but inside it’s usually just the sound of a ceiling fan. We aren't looking to grow into some huge company. We just like being the local spot on the Main Road where people can get what they need. It’s just how we do things here and we don't plan on changing much.
