Sri Praksh Hollow Bricks

Our place is over at 4/57, Seethagounder Colony in Jagir Ammapalayam. We’re right here in Salem, making hollow bricks for the local builders. It’s a practical kind of business. We spend the day mixing the materials and setting the blocks to cure. The yard isn't huge, but we make use of every bit of space to store the finished bricks. You’ll see us out there most days, covered in a bit of dust and moving blocks from the racks to the delivery trucks. It’s a straightforward operation. We don’t have fancy marketing or a big sales team. Usually, it's just us answering the phone and showing people what we have in stock. The neighborhood knows us as the spot for hollow blocks. We’ve had a few ups and downs with the machines, but that’s part of the job. We try to keep a decent amount of stock so that when someone stops by, they don't have to wait. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s what we know. We see a lot of the same faces coming back when they start a new project. We just tell them what’s ready and what needs a few more days to set properly. Being in a colony like Seethagounder means we have to keep things relatively tidy, or as tidy as a yard full of concrete can be. We just keep working away at the blocks, one batch after another, making sure the local construction keeps moving forward. It’s steady work and it keeps us all busy.
