Niha Flyash Bricks

Niha Flyash Bricks is located at Flat No :263/2 in Ettikuttai Medu, specifically over in the Katchupalli Post area. It’s a bit out of the main way, which gives us plenty of room to spread out the bricks while they are curing. We decided to focus on fly ash bricks because that’s what everyone is asking for these days in construction. The process is a bit different from the old clay bricks we used to see around here. We have a couple of machines that do the heavy pressing. It’s a noisy business and the dust gets everywhere, even inside the small room we use for our paperwork. My cousin and I run the daily stuff while a few local men handle the heavy lifting and the machine operation. We usually start very early before the sun gets too hot. By midday, we are usually taking a break under the shade of the trees near the edge of the property. We don't have a website or any fancy advertisements. Most people hear about us from their neighbors or the contractors working in Katchupalli. We just try to keep a decent stock ready so when a truck shows up, we can load it and get them on their way quickly. It’s simple, physical work and it keeps us tired but satisfied at the end of the day. We’ve had to learn a lot about the right mix of ash and cement to get the strength right for the buildings.
