We chose this spot because the main road is right there, which is great for getting trucks in and out without any trouble. We make hollow bricks for all kinds of building projects around Udayapatti. It’s a basic operation with a focus on day-to-day production. The yard is usually full of bricks drying in the sun. We don't have a big office staff; usually, whoever is nearest the gate helps the customers when they pull up. We spend our time checking the machinery and moving stacks of bricks around. It’s physical work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. The noise from Cuddalore Main Road is constant, but you get used to it after a few days. We don't use any complicated sales talk or anything like that. We just tell people the price and show them the bricks. It’s an honest way to make a living.
