Nandhini Bricks

Nandhini Bricks is located at No. 50/66 in Thangama Pudhupattinam. We are tucked away near Meeturdam, which is a nice landmark to have nearby. The air out here is a bit different from the city. We have a lot of open space where we lay out the bricks to dry under the sun. It is a process that depends heavily on the weather, so we are always keeping an eye on the clouds. If it looks like rain, everyone has to hurry to cover things up. The ground is often dusty and orange from the clay we use. We have been here for a long time, and the locals know where to find us. Our office is just a small brick building with a tin roof that gets quite loud when it rains. We don't have fancy furniture, just the basics like a desk and a couple of ledgers. Most of our work happens outside anyway. We see the water from the dam area sometimes when we go out for deliveries. The trucks come in and out through the narrow roads, which can be tricky for the drivers. It’s hard work, and our clothes usually have some dirt on them by the end of the shift. We just keep doing what we know, making sure the kiln is at the right temperature and the stacks are steady. It is a quiet, honest way to make a living in this part of the country.
