Shervarayan Malai Farmer Producercompany Limited is up in the Yercaud hills. You can find our office at 199/V4 on Tipperary Road. It is a very different atmosphere up here compared to the heat of the plains. We work with the farmers who grow things on the slopes of the Shervarayan mountains. Most of the time, we are busy with coffee, pepper, and other hill crops. The office is just a simple room where we keep our records and meet with the local growers. We do not have any big signs or flashy lights. Tipperary Road is a well-known spot, so people usually find us without too much trouble. It is a community-based company, meaning we are all in this together to try and get better results for our harvests. Sometimes the mist is so thick you can’t see the road, which makes getting things down the hill a bit of a challenge. We do not worry about sounding corporate or fancy. We just focus on the weight of the bags and the quality of the beans. Life moves a bit slower in Yercaud, but the work is still constant. We spend a lot of our time listening to the concerns of the farmers and trying to find ways to move the products to the market. It is a practical, local operation run by people who live right here.
