Saruthupatti Sakthi Farmer Producer Company Limited is based at 81/6, Bang Road in Saruthupatti, over in the Alagapuri area. We are a collective of farmers who decided it was better to work together than alone. Our place on Bang Road is where we meet to talk about the crops and how to get them sold. It’s a very practical setup, nothing fancy at all. You’ll usually find a few of us sitting around discussing the latest weather patterns or how the soil is looking this season. We handle the collection of produce and try to make sure everyone gets a fair shake. It’s a lot of physical work, especially during the harvest time when everyone is rushing to get things moved. We don't have a marketing department or a big fancy logo. We just have our names and our reputations in the local community. Sometimes we have disagreements about how to do things, but we always figure it out in the end. It’s just how things go when you’ve got a group of people working the land. We focus on the basics like seeds, water, and hard work. Being in Saruthupatti means we are close to the fields we work in. We don't put on any airs; we just do what needs to be done to keep the farming business moving along.
