Santhoshkumar M is the one who mostly keeps an eye on things here. We aren't some big city firm. It’s just a regular office on the main road where the dust from the traffic comes in through the door. We spend a lot of our time helping out the local producers and trying to keep the records straight. It’s a lot of work and sometimes it feels like we are drowning in papers. We don't have any fancy mission statements or things like that. We just show up every morning and see what needs doing. Some days it’s about fixing a mistake in the ledger and other days it’s about talking to someone who’s had a bad harvest. The town of Pethanaickenpalayam is small, so we see the same faces every day. It makes the work feel more personal. We aren't trying to be the best at anything, we just want to make sure the business stays open and the people here get what they need. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to work by candlelight, but that’s just life here. We don’t have a big marketing plan. We just have a desk, some chairs, and a lot of patience for the daily grind of running a small business.
