Jarugumalai Farmers Producer Company

Jarugumalai Farmers Producer Company is located at 4-32 Sambakuttapatty. That is over in the Thumbalpatti post area near Panamarathupatty in Salem. We are a group of farmers who decided it was better to work as one unit instead of all of us struggling on our own. Most of us have small plots of land around the Jarugumalai hills. It is beautiful out here but farming can be a tough way to make a living. We use our company to buy things like seeds and tools in bulk so it is cheaper for everyone. We also try to sell our produce together so we have a bit more say in the prices. The office is just a simple room where we keep our records and have our meetings. We usually meet up once a week to talk about what needs to be done. There is always someone there if you need to ask a question or drop something off. We don't have any big goals of becoming a huge corporation. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of and that the farming stays viable for the next generation. It is a community effort and everyone chips in where they can. We don't use any complicated language here. We just talk about the rain, the soil, and the crops. That is what matters to us at the end of the day and we keep it simple.
