Down at No.1 on the Sendhamangalam Road in Pudhansandhai, you’ll find us. We are the Arthanareeswarar Consortium Of Farmer Producer Company Limited. It’s a bit of a mouthful of a name, but we are really just a group from Sellappampatti Village. Most days, it’s pretty quiet around here, except when the trucks go by on the road. We set this up because farming alone is getting harder and harder these days. By joining up as a consortium, we figured we could share the load a bit. The office is right there in the village, easy for the local farmers to get to. We don't have any fancy signs or big glass windows. It’s just a room with some chairs and a lot of paperwork about seeds and harvests. Sellappampatti is a good place, but like anywhere else, the weather is always a worry. We talk a lot about the rain and the prices at the market. That’s mostly what goes on here. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We are just people who know the land and want to make sure we can keep doing what we do. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s ours. If you come by Pudhansandhai, you’ll see how we operate.
