Agni Mariamman Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are located at 14/3-120A in Amman Nagar. It’s part of Samraj Pettai, which is over in Posmecheri, near Mettur. Most people around here know the area well. The Agni Mariamman name is important to us because of the local temple and our history here. We started this producer company because farming around Mettur has its own set of problems. The land can be stubborn. We spend our days looking at the crops and talking to the other members. It’s a lot of walking and checking the pipes. Our office isn't much to look at, just a practical space where we can sit down and do the accounts. We get together in the evenings when the sun goes down to discuss what we’re going to do next week. It’s not corporate, it’s just neighbors talking. We have to handle the selling and the buying together so we don't get pushed around. Sometimes the harvest is plenty, and sometimes it's thin. We just take it as it comes. We’ve lived here forever, so we know the people and the soil. It’s just us trying to keep the tradition going while keeping up with how things are done now. It’s hard work, and our hands are always dirty, but that’s the job. We don’t have any big plans other than staying in business and helping our families.
