Baba Samer Dass Farmer Producer Company Limited is located right near the PNB Bank on Gohana Road. If you know Israna, you know exactly where that is. We are over at Gurvinder Singh’s place, he is the son of Sh. Balwan Singh. It is a busy stretch of road with a lot of trucks and tractors passing by all day long. Sometimes the noise makes it hard to hear ourselves talk, but we manage. We are just a group of local farmers trying to organize things a bit better. Instead of everyone going off in different directions, we meet up here and plan things out. Gurvinder keeps the records and makes sure we are all on the same page. It is a lot of work dealing with the inputs and the harvest schedules, but it beats doing it without any help. The bank being right there is handy for when we need to sort out the accounts or handle the money side of things. People stop by on their way into town all the time. It is a practical setup for a practical kind of job. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just some chairs and a lot of calendars with dates circled. Israna keeps us busy, especially during the harvest when nobody gets much sleep. We just take it as it comes and try to help each other out. That is all.
