Vikash Fly Ash Bricks

We are located at Gopalpur Chowk on Dumka Road in the Jamtara district. It is right near the main road, so we get a lot of dust from the passing trucks. Vikash Fly Ash Bricks is what we call ourselves. We went with fly ash because it is a bit different from the usual red bricks you see everywhere. It takes a bit of explaining sometimes, but people are starting to like them more. The machine we use to compress the ash is quite heavy and requires a lot of maintenance. I spend at least an hour every morning just oiling everything and checking the bolts. It is just me and three other guys working the shift. We do not have a big gate or a fence, just the stacks of gray bricks lined up by the road. Sometimes people stop their cars just to ask what they are made of. We tell them it is fly ash and show them how strong they are. It is a quiet life most of the time, except for the machine noise. We do not have any big goals of expanding or anything like that. We just want to make enough bricks to keep the local builders happy and keep ourselves busy. Jamtara is a good place to be, and the community here has been supportive of our small yard. We stay open until the sun goes down and then go home.
