King Brick

You can find King Brick right in Ramgarh, just a short walk from the Civil Court. Being near the court means there are always people moving around and cars parked everywhere on the street. It is a lively spot to have a business, though it gets a bit noisy during the middle of the day. We have been working this land for a few years now. Bricks are heavy and the work is dirty, but we enjoy being out in the open air instead of stuck inside an office. We aren't a big corporation with suits and meetings and all that. Usually, you will find us with dirt on our hands near the storage piles. We use the local clay from around here because it holds up well in the local weather. Sometimes the batches come out a little different color depending on the soil that week. That is just how natural things go and most people don't mind it much. We keep a small wooden shed for the paperwork and drinking tea, but mostly we are out by the kilns. My nephew helps me with the counting and the loading of the trailers. We try to be fair with everyone who stops by to buy a few loads. The neighbors are good people, and we all help each other out when the heavy monsoon rains come. Ramgarh is a growing place, so there is always someone building something new. We just keep our heads down and work.
