Vanopag Farmer Producer Company Limited is based over in the Hazaribagh area, specifically in Village Daru Tola. Our mailing address is H.No 01, Darudih, and we are close to the Ranchi side of things. Santosh Kumar is the one who keeps things organized here at the house. The office is basically his front room. It’s a small place where we keep the registers and the seed samples we are testing. We are a group of local farmers trying to work together so we don't get pushed around by the middleman. It’s a lot of trial and error, to be honest with you. We aren't corporate types; we're usually in our work clothes because there’s always something to do in the fields or with the animals. The village is pretty quiet, and we like it that way. Most days involve a lot of walking and talking to the other members to see how they are doing. We don't have any big signs or fancy branding on the walls. People just know us as the local farm group. Sometimes we have to deal with pests or bad irrigation, and those are the days we all huddle together to find a quick solution. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure our families are taken care of. It’s a modest operation and we don't pretend it's anything else. We drink a lot of tea and wait for the seasons to change. That’s just life at Vanopag.
