Gopes Farm

If you are driving out toward the Birsa Munda Airport, you will find Gopes Farm in the Hundru area. It is pretty close to the main landing strips, so we hear the planes coming and going all day long. It is a bit noisy, but we got used to it after a while. Most of the time we are out in the dirt, checking on how things are growing. Farming around here depends a lot on the rain and the season. We have some sheds for the tools and a place where we keep the supplies. It is not a big corporate setup. We are just local people working the land near the city. Sometimes people get lost looking for the airport and end up turning into our gate by mistake. We just point them back to the main road. The soil in Hundru is okay, but you have to work it hard to get anything decent out of it. We spend our mornings watering and our afternoons fixing whatever broke the day before. There is always a fence that needs mending or a pump that is acting up. We do not spend much time inside an office. It is better to be outside where the actual work happens. Gopes Farm is just a simple place. We grow what we can and try to keep things running smooth despite the heat or the unexpected storms that roll through this part of Jharkhand.
