Hebburu Horticulture Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our office is located at 105, 1st Floor of the R.S Tower in Lalpur, Ranchi. It’s a bit different from being right in the middle of a field, but being in the city helps us with the paperwork and meeting people who buy our produce. We are a horticulture group, so we mostly deal with fruits, vegetables, and flowers grown by farmers in the surrounding areas. Even though we are in a building in Ranchi, most of our members are out in the villages every day. We started this because getting horticulture products to the market while they are still fresh is a real challenge. We spend a lot of time on the phone or running back and forth between the tower and the rural sites. It’s a bit messy sometimes. We don't have a professional secretary or anything; we just handle the files ourselves. The office is often full of crates or samples of what’s being grown. It’s not a polished corporate environment. We have tea and talk about the market rates and the transport issues. Sometimes the elevator in the tower doesn't work, and we have to carry things up the stairs. That’s just part of the job. We are just a bunch of people trying to get things from the field to the city more efficiently. We do our best to keep things moving and make sure the farmers get paid for their hard work without too many middle-men involved.
