The Grand Hotel

Our place is called The Grand Hotel and we are on Kusum Vihar Road No. 4 in Ranchi. Even though the name sounds a bit big, we are actually a pretty simple setup. We have a few floors of rooms for people staying in the city. Most of us who work here live just a short walk away. The days are mostly spent changing sheets, sweeping the hallways, and checking people in at the front desk. It isn't a high-pressure environment. We have a small kitchen that makes tea and basic meals like dal and rice. The road outside can get a bit noisy with the local traffic, especially in the evenings. We get all kinds of guests, from people here on business to families visiting for a wedding. We’ve got a couple of old chairs in the lobby where we sit when things are quiet. The building has been here for years, and it shows its age in some spots, but we keep it clean. We don't do any big advertising. Usually, people just see our sign when they drive down Road No. 4. We focus on making sure the lights work and there is water in the taps. It’s a straightforward business. We like being part of the Kusum Vihar neighborhood and seeing the familiar faces every day. It feels like home to us.
