We are located in Ganesh Lal Lane over in the Lalpur area of Ranchi. The office is actually at Mrs. Annapurna Banerjee’s house. It is a residential neighborhood, so it does not feel like a typical corporate workplace. We are a private limited company doing construction work, mostly around the local city area. There is usually a lot going on here. We have blueprints and site plans spread out over the dining table and a couple of desks we squeezed in. Sometimes the contractors come in with mud on their shoes right after visiting a site, and we just have to sweep it up later. It is a small operation. We spend a lot of time on the phone trying to track down bags of cement or making sure the truck with the bricks shows up on time. Traffic in Lalpur can be a real pain, so things often run late. We do not have any big fancy slogans or a shiny lobby. It is just us trying to get houses and shops built properly. The rains can slow us down sometimes, which is frustrating, but we just pick up where we left off. We know the people in this lane well since we have been here for years. It is a busy, slightly messy life, but we like being part of the building trade here in Ranchi.
