Jharkhand Tourism Tourist Information Centre

Our office is over in the Airview Co-Op. Housing Society in Kolkata. It is a bit of a quiet spot for a tourism office, but it works for us. We are tucked away in West Bengal to help folks who want to see what Jharkhand has to offer. It is not some fancy travel agency with neon signs. It is just a regular office with some desks, chairs, and stacks of brochures that sometimes get a bit dusty. We spend our days talking to people about train routes to Ranchi or which waterfalls are best to visit after the monsoon. Sometimes the phones do not stop ringing and other times it is very still. We have maps pinned to the walls and a lot of files about hotels and guest houses. It is a government-run place, so things move at their own pace here. We try to keep the latest info on festivals and park timings, but sometimes we are waiting for updates ourselves. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that is usually when we take a break. It is a plain, honest job. We are just here to point you in the right direction if you are planning a trip. It gets a bit cluttered with all the paperwork, but that is just how we work. We have been in this society for a while now and most of the neighbors know us.
