You can find us at Tilatand, near Katras Bazar in Dhanbad. We’ve been here for quite some time, operating out of this part of Jharkhand. Dhanbad is known for coal and dust, and our neighborhood is no different. We spend a lot of time cleaning the shelves because the soot from the nearby areas just seems to find its way inside every crack and corner. Our shop isn't anything special to look at. It’s a practical space filled with the goods and supplies that people in the mining and local trades need to get their work done. We open early because that’s when the workers are out and about. Most of our customers are people we’ve known for ten or twenty years. They drop in for a chat as much as they do for supplies. We don't have a website or any of that fancy modern stuff. Most people just know where we are or ask someone at the Katras Bazar market if they get lost. We keep our records in big ledgers and on an old computer that takes its own sweet time to start up in the morning. When it gets really hot in the summer, we sit under the big banyan tree outside for a bit of shade and some air. It’s hard work, and the environment can be tough, but it’s our living. We just try to provide what people ask for without making a big fuss. That’s how we do things in Tilatand.
