Songreen Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Mrs. Presoti Devi’s place in Nawbhilmagarhwa. It’s in the Kandi area of Garhwa, pin code 822021. We are a small group of farmers. We got tired of trying to sell our stuff individually and not making any money. So we put our names together. It is hard work. We don't have fancy equipment. Most of what we do is just talking to each other about the crops and the seasons. The address is basically a home where we keep our records and meet up. Kandi is a long way from the big cities. We like it that way mostly. The air is better here even if the work is backbreaking. We deal with whatever the ground gives us. Sometimes it is a lot and sometimes it isn't. We are learning how to manage the business side as we go. It’s not always smooth. We make mistakes with the forms and the banking stuff. But we know how to plant and when to pick. That's the part that matters most to us. If you pass through Nawbhilmagarhwa, you’ll see us out there. We don't have a big sign or anything. Just some local people trying to make the farm pay for itself. It is a slow process but we are still here doing it every day. We just hope the next season is a good one.
