Sonahatu Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our little company is called Sonahatu Farmers Producer Company Limited. We are located in Landupdih, which is part of the Sonahatu area near Bundu. Kunj Bihari Sahu and his father Bhikhari Sahu let us use their place at number 39 to keep things running. Ranchi is a big district, but out here it feels like a small world. We are just farmers who realized that working alone wasn't getting us very far. So we put our names together. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or a big office staff. It’s mostly just us. We spend a lot of time discussing the weather and the soil. Every year is a bit of a gamble with the rain, so we try to help each other manage the risks. We aren't trying to sell anyone on some big dream. We just want to sell our vegetables and grains for a price that covers our costs and maybe a little more. It's a lot of physical labor, and by the end of the day, we are usually pretty tired. But it feels good to be working for ourselves. We know every corner of these fields.
