Sarna Krishak Producer Company Limited

Sarna Krishak Producer Company Limited is based out of Chokar Bedanawadih in the Bariatu area. We are located at Nageshwar Bedia’s place. We are basically a group of farmers who decided that working together was much better than struggling alone with all the market pressures. It is a very grassroots kind of company. We do not have a fancy glass building or a receptionist sitting at the front. Usually, you will just find one of us sitting at a wooden desk covered in ledgers and crop reports. We help each other out with buying seeds in bulk and finding better places to sell what we grow in the fields. It has been a bit of a learning curve for us to handle the business side of things, like all the paperwork and official filings, but we are slowly getting the hang of it. Most of us have been farming since we were young, so we know the soil here in Bariatu very well. We named the company Sarna Krishak to reflect our roots and the respect we have for the land. We are not looking to become some massive multinational corporation. We just want the farmers in our group to get a decent price for their hard work. Sometimes there are disagreements about what to plant, but we usually talk it out over some tea.
