Sagen Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited

Sagen Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited is located at House Number 57 in Terenga. That is in the Kendadih area, not far from Jadugora in East Singhbhum. This is a company run by women farmers who live and work right here in these villages. We started this because we wanted to have our own voice in how we sell what we grow. The house where we meet is a regular village home, nothing fancy at all. We sit on the floor or on benches and talk about the seeds and the weather. Sometimes our kids are running around while we are trying to count the harvest totals. East Singhbhum can get really hot, so we usually try to get our main work done early in the morning. Jadugora is nearby, so we see a lot of movement through the area. We handle everything ourselves, from the planning to the actual heavy lifting. It’s a community thing, really. When one of us has a problem with their land, we all talk about it at the office in Terenga. We don't have fancy brochures or a website that looks like a bank's. We just have our notebooks and our experience from working the dirt every day. It’s a tough life sometimes, but doing it together as Sagen Mahila Kisan makes it a little easier for everyone. We try to help each other out with whatever is needed, whether it is equipment or just some good advice.
