Onamo Gope Farmer Producer Company Limited is located out in West Singhbhum. To be specific, we are in Roladin, near the Birua Tonto post office in Manjhari. It is a bit of a trek from Chaibasa, but this is where we belong. We are a group of farmers who know these hills and fields better than anything else. We started this company because we wanted to have more control over our own work. When you are just one farmer, it’s easy for people to overlook you, but when we are a group, it’s different. We don't have a fancy headquarters. Our office is just a place where we gather to talk about the price of goods and the state of the soil. The language we use is simple because we are simple people. We don't have any corporate polish or big goals for world expansion. We just want the people in Roladin and the surrounding villages to get what they deserve for their hard work. Farming is all we have ever done, and it’s what we will keep doing. Sometimes the rain is too much and sometimes it’s not enough. We just help each other get through it. If you come out this way, you’ll see us working. We aren't hidden away in an office; we are out where the work is. That’s the only way we know how to run things around here.
