This company is run by women farmers here in Deoghar. We are specifically focused on goat farming, which is something many of us have done in our backyards for years. Gyatri Devi’s place in the Bagan area is where we meet and keep our records. Khoripanan Women Goat Farmer Producer Company Limited came about because we wanted to have more say in how our livestock is sold. Usually, the middleman takes everything, but together we have more strength. We aren't polished businesswomen. We are mothers and farmers who know how to take care of animals. We deal with the daily chores of feeding, cleaning, and health checks for the goats. It is messy work. In Deoghar, we have a good community, and this group has brought the women closer. We talk about the best feed and how to keep the goats healthy during the rainy season. Sometimes the goats get sick and it’s a struggle, but we help each other out. We don't have a big corporate office or a marketing budget. Our goats are what we have. We are just trying to make a bit of extra money for our families so we can send our kids to better schools. It’s a slow climb, and we don't always get everything right, but we are doing it ourselves. It's honest work in the Bagan area. We just want to do right by our families and our animals. Every goat counts for us.
