We are based out of Rampujeli Khalari. Kamal Serai Fed Farmers Producer Company Limited is the name we use, and Shyalik is the one who helps keep us organized here. It is a very small operation, mostly just a handful of us who have farms nearby. Khalari is a peaceful place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We decided to form this company because we wanted to have a bit more say in how our produce is sold. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to make sure we can buy what we need for our crops without spending too much. Most of our meetings happen outside or in someone's living room. We talk about the soil, the bugs, and the rain. It is basic stuff because that is what matters to us. We don't have any promotional materials or big signs. If you come to Rampujeli, you might see us working in the fields or hauling stuff on the back of a cart. We are just regular people who have spent our lives working with the earth. We use our collective strength to get things done that we couldn't do alone. It’s not a fancy life, but it is ours. We are just trying to make a decent go of it here in Khalari.
