Jal Jivika Kisan Producer Company Limited

We operate out of Govindpur in the Rajnagar area, and Arjun Tudu, who is the son of Demka Tudu, helps us keep things moving. Our name, Jal Jivika, is important to us because water is the most precious thing we have for our crops. Without it, none of us would be able to survive here. We are a group of local farmers who grew up in these fields and decided to join forces. Working alone was getting too difficult, especially when you have to deal with the markets and the suppliers. So we formed this company to give ourselves a bit of a better chance. We are simple people. You can find us most days out in the heat, working the soil and checking the water levels. We don't have any professional training in business; we just know what the land needs. Our meetings are very informal, usually happening at Arjun’s place or out by the fields. We talk about real things like pests, rain, and how much we can get for our harvest this year. There is no polish to what we do. It is just hard, manual labor and a lot of hoping that the weather stays on our side. We aren't looking for anything big. We just want to make sure that our families in Govindpur can continue to live off the land as we always have.
