Jagganathpur Pragati Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Siyaljhora in the West Singhbhum district. Specifically, we operate out of house number 1000, which is Lalchand Mahato’s place. We are local farmers who realized that working in isolation wasn't really getting us anywhere. Around here, everyone knows everyone, and most of us are out in the sun all day. Setting this up was a way to bring our produce together and try to get things sorted for the community. It’s not a big, polished operation. It’s more about sitting down and talking through what we need for the next season. West Singhbhum has its own challenges with the soil and the water, so we try to help each other out where we can. Siyaljhora is our home, and we wanted to make sure our farming efforts stayed rooted here. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that, just a few of us trying to keep the records straight and the crops moving. If you walk through the village, you might see us gathered around, discussing prices or tools. It’s basic, everyday stuff. We aren't looking to change the world, just trying to make the farming life a bit more stable for the families living around Jagganathpur. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset most days. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done for the crops to grow and the business to stay afloat.
