Indian Railway

Our spot is tucked away in New Garden over in Sirom Toli. If you know Ranchi, you know this area gets pretty busy during the day. We are based out of Leotina Kachhap’s place, which makes it feel more like a home than a big government office. It’s got a bit of a garden out front, though it's not always as green as we'd like when the sun is beating down in the summer months. Working for the Indian Railway from here is a bit different than being at the big station, but it works for us. We handle our bits and pieces right here in the 834001 area. Sometimes the street gets a bit noisy with people passing through to get to the main roads. We have some old desks and a lot of papers that seem to pile up no matter how much we organize the files. The fans hum all day long to keep the air moving, though they squeak sometimes. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll see big logos or glass walls. It’s just a house where railway work gets sorted out. Most of the neighbors know us, and we see the same faces every morning when we open up. It’s a practical way to run things. We drink a lot of tea while we go through the paperwork. If someone knocks, it's usually a delivery or a colleague looking for a specific form. It’s just regular life here in Sirom Toli.
