Hirodih Women Farmer Producer Company Limited is a small group we put together here in Hirodih, specifically in Sector III. We run things through Ravisankar Chaudhary’s place. It’s mostly just the local women who spend their days out in the fields around Hirodih. We decided it was better to be an official company so we could handle our business more easily. Farming is the main thing for us, and it takes up almost all our time. We aren't some big business with a lot of rules; we just wanted a way to organize our harvests. In Hirodih Sec III, everyone pretty much knows what everyone else is doing anyway. When it’s time to sow or time to reap, we are all out there. Having this company helps us get our seeds and tools without too much trouble. It’s about being practical and looking out for one another. You won't find any fancy brochures here. We just keep our notes and do our planning where we can. It’s a bit of a scramble sometimes when the rains come late or the sun is too hot, but we manage. We are just trying to keep our homes and our farms running. If you’re ever in our part of Hirodih, you’ll see us working. It’s not glamorous, but it is what we know. We hope that by staying together, we can make the hard seasons a little bit easier for everyone involved.
