Data Entry Operator

Data Entry Operator is based at the National Horticulture Board, specifically in Laxmi Niwas at Krishi Bhawan on Kankey Road in Ranchi. The area code is 834008. We’re located inside a government building, so the atmosphere is quite formal but also a bit old-fashioned. Our office is a large room filled with desks and old computer monitors. We spend the whole day entering information from paper forms into the database. It’s not very exciting work, but it’s what we do. The building itself, Laxmi Niwas, has high ceilings and those old-style windows that let in a lot of light. Kankey Road is always busy with traffic, but once you get inside the gates of Krishi Bhawan, it’s much quieter. We have a small group of operators, and we’ve all become pretty fast at typing over the years. We don't have any fancy perks or a modern breakroom. We usually just eat our lunch at our desks or go sit under the trees outside if it’s not too hot. Ranchi weather can be a bit unpredictable, so we always keep umbrellas near the door. We don't have any big corporate mission or anything like that. Our job is just to make sure the data is right. It’s a steady, quiet kind of life, and we’re fine with that. We just come in, do the typing, and head home when the clock strikes five.
