Bero Kadam Samriddhi Mahila Kisanproducer Company Limited is located in Tetar Toli, which is part of Bero here in Ranchi. We use a space at Anil Kumar’s house, who is the son of the late K. Ram. It is a quiet spot, and it works well for us women to meet up and talk about our farming business. We are all local ladies who have been farming for years, mostly growing what we can on our small family plots. We decided to put our names together for this company because it makes sense to help each other out with the heavy lifting of buying supplies and selling what we harvest. There is no big marketing team here, just a group of neighbors who know each other's families. We meet when we can, usually after the housework and field chores are done. The language we use is just the plain English we know, or our local tongue, talking about the real problems we face like pests or getting a truck to haul our goods to market. We are just trying to build something that lasts for our community in Bero. It’s not always pretty, and we are learning as we go, but it is our own thing. We focus on the practical side of being farmers in Jharkhand and making sure we can keep our homes running for our children. It's about being together in this.
