Our group is based in Chakferi Khas, which is a small village near Poronda in the Shahabad area. We use Mohammad Asif’s place for our meetings and to keep our documents. Being in Rampur, we are surrounded by farms and that’s what we know best. This company was put together so we could help each other out with the farming side of things. It’s not a big corporate setup. It’s just a bunch of us from the village trying to make things work better. We spend a lot of time out in the fields and then come back to the village to figure out the business side. There is always something to fix or a plan to make for the next planting season. The roads out here aren't always the best, especially when it rains, so getting things moved takes some time and patience. We are all local people who grew up here in Uttar Pradesh. We know the land and we know how hard it can be to get a fair price for what we grow. By working as a producer company, we can handle the selling and buying as a group. It feels more honest doing it this way. Sometimes the paperwork gets confusing, but Mohammad Asif helps keep us on track with all the rules. We are just simple farmers trying to build something for our families in the village. It’s a lot of long hours but we are used to that life.
