Mahabir Seeds Corporation & Research Centre

Mahabir Seeds Corporation & Research Centre is based out of Bilaspur, right near the Haryali Kishan Bazar on Matkhera Road. It is a busy part of town and we have been here for a while now. Most days involve a lot of checking on seed batches and seeing how the different varieties are doing in the plots. The research part sounds fancy but mostly it is just us looking closely at plants and making notes on what works and what does not. We get a lot of local farmers stopping by since we are so close to the bazar. It gets dusty in the summer and the road can be a bit of a mess when it rains, but we manage. The staff here knows the local soil pretty well. We spend a good amount of time sorting through bags and making sure everything is labeled right. It is not always quiet here because of the traffic on Matkhera Road, but it keeps things interesting. Sometimes we have a backlog of paperwork to get through, but usually, we are out back or in the storage area. We started this place because there was a need for reliable seeds in this area and we just kept at it. There are no big offices or air-conditioned rooms, just the work and the seeds. We try to keep things simple and honest. If you are passing by the bazar, you will probably see our sign. It is a straightforward operation and we like it that way.
