Shramik Mahila Nature Farming Producer Company Limited

Our group is called Shramik Mahila Nature Farming Producer Company Limited. We are based in Gram-Rampur, right near the post office in Niyamatabad. Monika Devi’s place is where we mostly meet up. It is a group of women from the village who decided to work together on farming. We focus on nature farming, which means we try to use what we have on the land instead of buying expensive chemicals from the big stores. It is harder work in some ways, but it feels better for the ground. We spend our days in the fields and then meet in the evenings to talk about the business side of things. We aren't experts in business, but we are learning as we go. We share the seeds and help each other during the planting season. It’s a very local thing. Everyone in Rampur knows what we are doing. We just want to make sure our families have a good future and the land stays healthy. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate, but we just keep going. It’s not a fancy operation. We have our ledgers and our bags of grain. We talk about the kids and the crops in the same breath. It's just our way of life here in Niyamatabad. We are proud of what we do with our own hands every single day. Working as Shramik Mahila keeps us strong together in the village.
