Aryashakti Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is something we started to help each other out in Kamalganj. We are based at Rajeev Singh’s place in Vill Makrand Nagar, near Po Rajipur. Most of us here have spent our whole lives growing things and we know how frustrating it can be when the prices drop or the supplies don't show up on time. We aren't business experts with degrees; we are just people who know the soil around here. Getting this group together was a way to stop feeling so isolated in our work. We share what we know and try to buy things in bulk so it costs everyone a little less. It is a very simple way of doing things, really. Sometimes we sit under a tree and just talk about the harvest. No one here is looking for fame or big profits, just a way to keep the farms running so we don't have to move away to the cities. Life in Makrand Nagar is quiet and we like it that way, but we have to be smart about the money side of farming. We handle our own paperwork and try to stay organized even when the season gets busy and everyone is exhausted. It’s not a fancy setup, just a bunch of neighbors in Kamalganj trying to look out for one another and keep our farming traditions alive without going broke in the process.
