Tarun Stone Industries

Our place is at Plot No. G-110 in the industrial area of Kudayala, right here in the Kota district. Kota is known for its stone, so we are right in the middle of everything. The industrial area is a maze of plots and we have our spot where the cutting and loading happens. It gets very loud during the day with the saws running. We have stacks of stone blocks everywhere you look. Some are rough and some are already worked on. It is a tough environment but it is what we know. The sun beats down on the corrugated roofs and we just keep going. Usually, there is a tea break in the afternoon where everyone sits for a bit before finishing the day's tasks. We don't spend much on decorations or fancy signs. The focus is always on the stone sitting in the yard. Trucks come in and out, kicking up dirt as they navigate the plot. We handle the paperwork in a small room near the gate. It is honest work and there is a certain rhythm to the way we cut the slabs. Living and working in the Kota area means stone is part of your daily life. We see the same faces every day and help each other out when a machine breaks down or a truck gets stuck. It is just a normal life in the Kudayala industrial zone.
