We have a long name, Sri Dabbaguli Basaveswara Swamy Farmer Producer Company Limited, but we are just the folks from Bannimukkodlu. We are out in the Kanakapura area of Ramanagar, not too far from the Bangalore Rural border but it feels very far from the city life. Life here is about the rhythm of the seasons and the crops. We aren't polished business people. We are just people who know how to handle the land. Our office is a simple place where we gather to figure out the harvest and the sales. Being in Ramanagar, we have our own way of doing things. We don't follow any corporate manual. We just do what makes sense for the group. Sometimes we argue about which crops to focus on, but in the end, we are all on the same side. We want to see our community do better. It’s hard work, and the commute towards the city sometimes reminds us why we prefer the rural life out here. We share our tools and our knowledge. It’s an old-fashioned way of working but in a formal company structure. We don't have a mission statement on the wall, just a calendar and some notes on the desk. We are just here, doing the work day in and day out. We hope to keep the tradition of farming alive while making it work for our families today. It is just about simple people and their land.
