Vijay Black Smith

If you walk down toward Station Plot in Bhaktinagar, you’ll hear the sound of metal hitting metal before you even see us. That is basically the sound of Vijay Black Smith at work. We are located right near Sky Touch Industries, which is a big landmark around here. My father did this work, and now I’m doing it too. It’s hot and it’s loud, and my hands are usually covered in soot by lunch, but that is just the way a blacksmith shop is. We don’t have fancy machines for everything. A lot of it is just the hammer and the anvil and a lot of patience. People bring us all kinds of things to fix. Sometimes it is a broken gate, or maybe someone needs a specific tool made for their garden or their workshop. We take whatever comes through the door. The shop gets pretty dusty and there are scraps of iron everywhere on the floor, but we know our way around it. Being in Bhaktinagar means we see a lot of the local workers and factory guys. We don't spend money on big signs or anything. We just keep the fire going and do the job that needs doing. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. If you need something made out of metal that actually lasts, you just come find us at the plot.
