Usha Engineering

Usha Engineering sits right on Laxminagar Main Road, which is a pretty lively spot to be. We are directly opposite the Shreenathji Haveli, so we get to hear the bells and see the crowds during the prayer times. It is a bit of a contrast, having an engineering workshop right across from a temple, but it works for us. The main road is always humming with scooters and buses, and sometimes the noise makes it hard to hear ourselves talk inside the shop. We do mostly mechanical and engineering jobs, the kind of stuff where you are always using your hands and getting a bit dirty. The shop is full of tools and spare parts that we have collected over the years. We do not have any fancy signs or a big reception area; it is just a place where things get made and fixed. My father started this kind of work, and we just kept it going because it is what we know. People stop by on their way to the Haveli sometimes just to ask for directions or a bit of help with a flat tire, and we try to help out when we can. The evenings are the busiest when everyone is heading home and stops by to pick up their orders. It is a simple life, and we like being a part of the Laxminagar community. We just keep working away at the lathe and the bench until the sun goes down.
