United Foundry & Marine

United Foundry & Marine is over on Gondal Road. You can find us pretty easily because we are right near the Bajaj Automotive Office. Working in a foundry is hot and heavy work. We deal with molten metal and big molds, so the environment is always a bit intense. It’s not for everyone, but we’ve been doing it for a long time. We also handle marine parts, which is a bit different but keeps things interesting. The air is thick with the smell of iron and dust. We have big fans going all the time to try and stay cool, but it’s still a sweat-inducing job. Gondal Road is always packed with vehicles, so there is a constant hum of traffic outside our walls. We have a yard where we keep the raw materials and the finished castings. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, but we know where everything is. Most of the staff have been here for years, and we operate like a small family. We don’t have much time for talking when the furnace is hot. We just focus on the task at hand and make sure the pours go right. It’s hard, physical labor, and we take pride in the stuff we make, even if it’s just heavy industrial parts. We close up when the sun goes down and start all over again the next morning. It’s a tough trade but we know it well.
