Honest Engineers

Honest Engineers is over at No. 6 in Sorthiyawadi. We are situated on the Kothariya Main Road. Being on a main road like Kothariya means there is never a quiet moment. There are buses and trucks rumbling by all day long. Our unit is number 6. It is a simple place with a heavy door and a couple of windows that we keep shut mostly to block out the noise. Sorthiyawadi is a busy neighborhood. We see the people walking to the local shops or waiting for the bus. Honest Engineers is just the name we have on the sign outside. It’s a small space. We have our tools and our desks set up in a way that makes sense to us. The lighting is a bit dim inside but we have some lamps. Kothariya Main Road is always being repaired or dug up, it seems. We’ve learned to deal with the dust and the diversions. People stop by because they see the sign while they are stuck in traffic. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever is there. It is a very straightforward way of working. We have been in Sorthiyawadi for some time. The area has its own rhythm. We fit in there at number 6. It is just a regular spot on a very busy road. We close up around seven most nights and walk to get our ride home.
