We’ve been at Plot No. 4 in Vaid Wadi for quite a while now. If you know the Gondal Road area, you probably know the railway over bridge nearby. It gets pretty loud when the trains go over, but we’re used to it. Our place isn't anything fancy, just a lot of steel sitting around and the smell of metal in the air. Most days it’s just us moving things from one corner to the other or loading up a truck that managed to squeeze into the lot. The dust from the road settles on everything, so we’re always wiping things down. It’s a busy spot. People stop by because they saw the sign while stuck in traffic near the bridge. We keep the gates open from early morning. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and we take a break, but mostly it's just work. There's a lot of heavy lifting involved. My hands are usually covered in grease or rust by the end of the shift. We don’t have a big office, just a desk and some chairs where we sit to figure out the numbers. It works for us. The neighbors at the other plots are mostly the same, just folks trying to get through the day's tasks. It’s not a quiet neighborhood, but it’s where we do our thing. We’ve seen the road change a lot over the years, more cars and more noise, but the shop stays pretty much the same.
