Shyam Dairy is right at the corner of Mavdi Chowk, near the Ring Road. If you know where the Shivam Complex is, we are just a short walk from there. We get started very early in the morning when the trucks bring the milk in. It is usually still dark outside when the first cans are moved around. The ground stays a little wet from washing down the containers, but it keeps everything clean. People from the neighborhood stop by for their daily milk or to get some curd for their lunch. It gets quite busy around seven or eight in the morning with everyone rushing to get things before work or school. We don't have any fancy signs or loud music playing. It is just a simple shop where we keep the dairy products cold and ready. Sometimes the traffic at the chowk gets a bit loud, especially in the evenings when the Ring Road is packed. We just stay focused on what we are doing behind the counter. The shelves are mostly filled with the basics that every kitchen needs. It is a small space but it works for us. We have been here for a good while and the regulars know our faces by now. It isn't a complicated business, just moving milk from the containers to the customers every day. We usually close up once the sun goes down and the rush dies off. It is a steady way of life and we like being part of the morning routine.
