Fill In Ice Cream

We are at Shop No 9 in the Nutan Nagar Shopping Centre. It’s right on Kalavad Road in Rajkot, across from the Bank of Baroda. It’s a small shop but we have plenty of ice cream. We started this because, well, everyone likes ice cream and Rajkot gets very hot. The freezer hums all day long and we have to keep an eye on it so nothing melts. It’s not a fancy parlour with velvet seats. We have some stools and a counter. Kids come in after school and sometimes they make a mess with the sprinkles, but we just wipe it up. It’s a family-run thing mostly. My uncle handles the morning shift and I take over in the afternoon. We don't have a hundred different flavors, just the ones people actually like. The shopping centre is usually pretty busy, so there’s always someone walking by. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to scramble to get the generator going, but we manage. It’s just a normal part of running a shop here. We’ve been here for a while and we like seeing the same faces come in every week. It’s a simple life selling cold treats. We also have some cones and cups stacked up high behind the counter. Sometimes the bell on the door doesn't ring right, but we see you when you walk in. We just keep things cold and keep the shop open for the neighborhood. It’s a humble spot for a dessert.
